Yu loves corrigans! Yu had lovely dinner there several times. But today wasn't so good experience...soda bread was amazing thou... Couldn't stop eating! Anyway yu and fellow friends asako&ayuko ordered "burger tasting menu" only available at bar counter and limited period. It took pretty long time to get served...finally burgers arrived! Venison&duck burger was extra gamey with venison liver, veal was very tender n mild and bull was quite manly flavour. Choosing 3 burgers out of 5 was pretty fun. And Burgers tasted really good...but they were quite cold...even you could send them back...and service was terrible...first a waiter took care of us offered Asako lemonaid to mix with beer as tasting menu comes with beers and she doesn't drink it. But he totally forgot till the end. Then top of the bun was dropped on table during service and never apologized or changed bun. again other waiter dropped mini macaroon from complementary sweets on table...and same story...waiter's back of shirts has been hanging outside of trousers...in the end yu's got lots of coins for change...and he said "sorry for small change but we don't get many people pay by cash"...sorry! What's wrong with paying by cash? Do we all have to use black amex or one of those premium card? What he said can be taken as insult...well working posh restaurant does not make you posh, sir. Yu is not super rich but not super poor either, so don't treat like one of you, mr waiter! Also my change was '1 short...well it is just '1...but relation between customer and restaurant or retailer is based on service and money...even '1 can totally destroy trust...More is fine but less is not so nice. Yu does know many of those dining there don't care about '1. And sometimes yu can get careless as well but '1 can save life! And obviously yu didn't want to pay any extra or tip after bad service...even could ask them for taking down service charge...anyway use calculator if you can't do it properly! Well...what yu tries to say here is lack of professionalism...it is not cheap chinese restaurant...it is corrigans in Mayfair! and we are paying certain amount for food and service. We have to deserve that!!! One good thing is that food is great there. Hope richard corrigan and general manager read this and think about how unprofessional some of their staff are...
